Previously, I have included only the big four: The World Series, starting in 1903; the NFL Championship Game, 1932-1965, and the Super Bowl, starting in 1967, but not the Championship Games of the AFL or any other football league, including the CFL: the NBA Finals, starting in 1947, but not the ABA; and the Stanley Cup Finals since the founding of the NHL, 1918, but not the WHA.
I am now going to add WNBA Finals, starting in 1997; the old North American Soccer League, 1967-1984; Major League Soccer, starting in 1996; and the various women's soccer leagues.
In the case of an intra-city finals, the city will be counted twice. Ties will be broken by most wins, then by most recent.
