Last night, the Yankees beat the Detroit Tigers, 5-1 at Yankee Stadium. Gerrit Cole pitched very well. Giancarlo Stanton hit his 400th career home run.

Home runs are fun. But what wins games, and wins titles, is situational hitting, good pitching and good defense.
You know this. I know this. Brian Cashman doesn't seem to know this. Maybe Hal Steinbrenner knows this; but, if he does, he doesn't care.
