My 5,000th Post: The Mission Remains

It took nearly 14 years to write 5,000 posts on this blog. Many things have changed for the better. Some things have changed for the worse. A few things haven't changed at all.

One thing that hasn't changed is the blog's mission, as stated in the 1st post, on September 26, 2007:

This blog will contain analysis intended to be serious, jokes intended to be funny, and maybe a surprise or two...

This blog is dedicated to the past, to my grandparents, George and Grace, who taught me to love the games, and that you don't have to be high-class to be classy; in fact, many who claim class have very little.

And dedicated to the future, to my nieces Ashley and Rachel, and hopefully to any cousins they might have, and to their mother, whoever she turns out to be. She doesn't have to be a Yankee Fan, she just has to be able to put up with one.

This was before a third niece, Mackenzie, was born. Alas, there is still no Aunt Anybody, and all their cousins come from the other side of their family.

But the mission remains.
