Franz, Duke of Bavaria.
Is he the rightful King of England?
July 17, 1918, 100 years ago: The household of the deposed Russian imperial family -- Czar (or Tsar) Nicholas II, his wife Czarina Alexandra, his heir Tsarevich Alexei, and his daughters the Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia, are executed by the Bolsheviks at Yekaterinburg.
The Czar was 50 years old; the Czarina, 46; the Grand Duchesses, 22, 21, 19 and 17, respectively; and the Tsarevich only 13.
The Czar had much to answer for. The rest did not deserve to die.
Four months later, World War I was over, and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany had abdicated, and was in exile. "Nicky" and "Willy" were first cousins, of each other, and also of King George V of Britain. All were grandsons of Britain's Queen Victoria.
