Alternate Facts of the Electoral Vote

Three-dimensional map of the 2016 election,
showing that land doesn't vote, people do.

States that have a team in MLB, the NFL, the NBA, the NHL or MLS over those that don't: 398 to 140.

States that are, at least, within an hour's drive of such a team: 493 to 42.

States that have an MLB team: 327 to 211.

States that have an NFL team: 383 to 155.

States that have an NBA team: 360 to 178.

States that have an NHL team: 325 to 213.

States that have an MLS team: 303 to 235.

States that have won at least 1 World Championship: 390 to 140. (If you don't count MLS, then it drops to 386 to 152. If you only count from 1900 onward, it drops to 382 to 156.)

States where a National League team is more popular than any American League team: 354 to 184.

States where an NFL team is more popular than any MLB team: 324 to 214.

States where a college football team is more popular than any NFL team: 338 to 200.

States where an NBA team is not the most popular team: 432 to 106. (The are only 6 States where the NBA is the most popular: California for the Los Angeles Lakers, Oregon for the Portland Trail Blazers, Arizona for the Phoenix Suns, Utah for the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Illinois for the Chicago Bulls. And California and Illinois provide 75 of the 106.)

States where an NHL team is not the most popular team: 522 to 16. (Michigan is the only one where it is, unless you want to count college hockey, in which case Vermont, Maine, North Dakota and Alaska might also be up there, making it 509 to 29.)

States where an MLS team is not the most popular team: 532 to 6. (Kansas, which has Sporting Kansas City instead of Missouri, is the only one where it is.)

States that have not hosted at least 1 Super Bowl: 341 to 197.

States that have hosted at least 1 Final Four: 359 to 179.

States that have not hosted at least 1 World Cup match, men's (1994) or women's (1999 or 2003): 317 to 221.
