Another 15 would've made it 125, which should not be a burden for a man who's allowed only 5 baserunners (all hits, no walks).

Maybe I'm too old school for today's sissy pitchers, but I still would have kept Pettitte in. After all, as good as the Yankee bullpen was (until Logan and Robertson spit the bit last night), it was the first of 3 straight nights of play. (Maybe Girardi was saving some better relievers like, oh, I don't know, Mariano.)

And, of course, in both 2007 and 2008, your Red Sox went down 3 games to 1 in the ALCS. They came back to win it in '07 and at least tied it in '08 before the Rays sucked it up and put an end to it. The '10 Rangers have just as much postseason experience as the '07 Tribe and '08 Rays, so while this is a time for concern, it is not one for panic.Uncle Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11618876073064128027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2889333447515035362.post-32503954837901125522010-10-19T12:35:18.225-04:002010-10-19T12:35:18.225-04:00Uncle Mike, you have the strike counts in your pos...Uncle Mike, you have the strike counts in your post, not pitch counts. Andy was at 110 and given how good the Yankee bullpen has been it seemed to make sense to call it a night for Pettitte. Lee was at 122 so it seemed inevitable to me that the Yankees would at least tie it in the 9th.

I agree with your defiance (to use your term) - there's nothing to say the Yanks couldn't rattle off three in a row - especially with two of them at home. The media needs something dramatic so of course they have to banter about the huge hole the Yanks are in. Funny how fast that will all change if the Yanks win tonight.

Cheers from Boston.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08384910528967083683noreply@blogger.com
